Plans, billing and the free first post
Officers never pay. Plans are for employers and agencies. See every price and the comparison table on Pricing. Payments currently run in Stripe TEST mode or DEMO mode: no real card is charged.
Free options
- Companies: one free first post per account, live for 30 days after approval.
- Agencies: entry-level / recruit postings are always free. Pick Entry-level / recruit as the posting type on the job form.
- Jobs we import from public sources are always free and stay listed.

Publishing a job
When you save a new job you choose how to publish it: your plan (if a slot is free), your free first post, or (agencies) a free entry-level posting. Every job still gets the same quick review, and still needs the equal-opportunity statement and pay range where the law requires one. Plan jobs run 30 days. While your plan is active you can extend them for free from the dashboard.
Featured credits
Pro and Enterprise include Featured credits each billing month (annual plans: every 30 days). Use one from the dashboard on a live job. Featured jobs are always labeled ★ Featured · Sponsored for officers.
Upgrade, downgrade or cancel
Go to Plan & billing (owner only). Upgrades apply right away. If you downgrade below the number of jobs you have open, nothing is taken down: open jobs run to their end date, and new jobs need a free slot. Cancelling ends the plan at the end of the period you've paid for, and you can resume it before then. In Stripe TEST mode, Manage payment method & invoices opens Stripe's customer portal.
If a payment fails
Your plan keeps working for a grace period (7 days by default) while you update your payment method. After that the plan pauses: open jobs stay up until their end date, but new plan jobs and credits wait until payment is fixed.
The “Verified Employer” badge
It shows on jobs from employers with all three: an active paid plan, a confirmed account email, and a verified company domain. You prove the domain with a DNS TXT record or a confirmed account email at your own domain; free email domains never count. Agencies must also be verified agencies, and can use .gov/.mil/.us domains. Domains are re-checked regularly, and the badge disappears if verification lapses. See Domain verification. It is not an endorsement of the employer or the job. Paying never lets a job skip an officer's filters: inside normal results a paid plan only breaks ties between otherwise equal jobs.
Agencies: pay annually by invoice or purchase order
Agencies on an annual plan can choose Pay by invoice (Plan & billing, or the link under agency plans on Pricing). Enter an optional PO number and your accounts-payable details. The plan starts as soon as the invoice is issued, and the invoice is due in 30 days (net 30). Reminders appear on your dashboard and billing page from 14 days before the due date. The site never emails invoices or reminders: print the invoice page (or save it as a PDF) and send it to accounts payable yourself. If the invoice is still unpaid on the due date, a grace period applies (same length as for card payments). After that, the plan pauses until it's paid. When we receive a check, ACH or wire, our team marks the invoice paid. Invoice plans don't auto-renew; a new invoice is issued for the next year. A vendor information sheet is available for vendor setup. It is currently a DRAFT with placeholder business details. We don't generate W-9 forms on the site; ask support for a signed W-9.
