Officers

Officer verification: uploading documents

If you can't use GovX ID, upload one to three documents on Verify your status:

  • Badge photo or agency ID card
  • State POST / certification card or letter
  • Retirement ID (retired officers)
  • Detention / corrections officers: a detention or corrections ID card (jail, detention center or state DOC) or your detention / corrections officer certification. Choose the Detention / Corrections officer type when you sign up.
  • DD-214 showing MP/MA service (military police)
  • SF-50 personnel action (federal)
  • A letter from your agency on letterhead

JPEG, PNG or PDF, up to 5 MB each. Cover or blur ID numbers you don't need to show.

How your documents are protected: each file is checked, hidden metadata (like GPS location) is removed, and it's encrypted. Only our reviewers can open it, every view is logged, and the files are deleted right after the decision.

Upload documents only on the verification page. Never attach them to a support ticket or email: support can't use them there.

Statuses: Pending (a reviewer will look soon), Needs info (the reviewer's question is shown on the page; add a document), Rejected (the reason is shown; you can try again), Verified.
