Let employers find you (officer search) and invites to apply
Officer search is off unless you turn it on at Let employers find me. Only verified officers can turn it on.
What employers see
An anonymous card with only the fields you tick: your initials (or your display name, if you choose), the state you pick, a years-of-service band (for example “5–9 years”), certifications and specialties. You can also add the states you'd work in, job categories, languages and education.
Employers never see your name, agency, email, phone, city, resume, military service or minimum pay. The card preview on the settings page shows exactly what they see.
Small numbers: even without your name, a card with a rare specialty in a small state could let someone who knows you guess it's you. Tick only the fields you're comfortable with.
Who can search
- Verified law enforcement agencies.
- Employers with a confirmed email and at least one live job that our team approved (and an officer-search pass where one is required).
Your current agency is blocked automatically if it has an account here, and you can block any other employer. Blocked employers can't find your card or invite you, and they aren't told.
Pause or opt out
Pause hides your card until you resume. Opt out turns officer search off. Either one takes effect immediately. If we change what officer search means, everyone's card is hidden until they review the screen and opt in again.
Invites to apply
An employer who likes your card can invite you to apply for one of their live jobs. You get an email and see it under Invites. You choose:
- Apply: apply like any other job; you decide what to share on the application, as always.
- Ignore: the employer isn't told. They only ever see “no response yet” or “applied”.
Employers have daily invite limits, and each officer gets at most a few invites a week across all employers.
Who saw my card
The settings page lists which employers saw your card in search results, which opened it and which invited you, so you can block anyone you like.
Small-crowd protection
A search must match at least 5 opted-in officers before any cards are shown. If fewer match, the employer sees "Too few matches. Broaden your search" and no cards, counts or hints. Repeated searches that differ only slightly, in a way that could isolate one person by comparing results, are blocked and flagged for our team to review.
For employers
Search from Find officers on your dashboard. Results are capped (a few pages per search), searches and card views have hourly/daily limits, there's no export, and every search is logged. Unusual volumes are flagged for review. Searches that match fewer than 5 officers show no cards ("Too few matches. Broaden your search"), and repeated narrow searches that look like an attempt to single someone out are blocked and flagged. To reach an officer, send an invite to apply tied to one of your jobs.
