Salary and benefits data
Salaries show police and law enforcement pay by agency and by state. Every number is labeled with where it came from.

Sharing your pay
Verified officers can add a report at Share your pay for any agency in the agency directory, including unclaimed agency records: agency, rank band, base pay, overtime, a years-of-service range, pension type, lateral bonus, take-home car and shift differential. You can add one report per agency per year, and you can delete yours any time.
How reports stay anonymous
- Reports are never shown one at a time. A group (an agency and rank band, or a state) shows figures only when it has approved reports from at least 5 different verified officers. The middle-50% range also needs at least 5. Rank bands include Chief/Sheriff/Director, which also stays hidden until at least 5 reports exist.
- Yes/no answers (such as take-home car) are shown in words (“most reports” or “some reports”), never as 0% or 100%, so a group's answer can't be read as every officer's answer.
- We show medians and ranges rounded to the nearest $1,000, never a minimum, maximum or single report.
- Your name and account are never shown with a report. Agencies and employers can't see who reported, and moderators review reports without your name.
- In a small agency, even a median can hint at what the few reporters earn. If that worries you, choose a broader rank band or wait until more officers have reported.
Checks
A moderator reviews every report. Reports that are far above or below that agency's other reports, or outside realistic ranges, are flagged for a closer look. Moderators can fix the agency name or reject a report.
For agencies: official pay and benefits
A verified agency account can publish its step plan (up to 30 steps) and benefits (pension, lateral bonus, take-home car policy, shift differential, education incentives and more) with Pay & benefits on the dashboard (or Add your official step plan on the agency page). This appears as Agency-provided, next to the officer-reported figures and kept separate from them.
Pay figures are for information only and may be out of date. Always confirm current pay and benefits with the agency.
