Your application status and messages

Your dashboard lists every application you've made. Click Status & messages to see where it stands.

Status Meaning
Application sent The employer hasn't opened it yet
Under review The employer opened it and is reviewing it
Interview stage You've moved to interviews. Watch your messages
Background check The employer started background checks
Offer The employer marked an offer
Hired Congratulations
Not selected The employer isn't moving forward

We email you when your status changes to Interview, Background, Offer, Hired or Not selected, and when the employer sends a message. The email doesn't include the message itself: sign in to read it.

Messages

Each application has a private message thread with that employer. You can reply once the employer has written to you. Messages are stored encrypted, and your personal email address isn't shown in messages. Employers still see the contact details you chose to share when you applied. Don't send ID numbers or documents by message.

What employers can't see

Employers use private ratings and notes to compare applicants. You won't see those, and they aren't part of your status. Employers never see your agency reviews, pay reports or job alerts.

Withdrawing

You can withdraw an application you've sent from your dashboard or the application page. That deletes your resume, contact details, cover note and messages from it, along with the employer's notes. The employer sees only that the application was withdrawn. Applications and messages are also deleted automatically on our retention schedule after a job closes. See Officer privacy & security.
