Agency directory and unclaimed profiles

The agency directory lists law-enforcement agencies so verified officers can review them, share pay and report how long hiring took, even if the agency hasn't joined the site.

Where the agencies come from

We never make agencies up. Each record comes from one of these sources, and the page says which:

  • An agency recruitment profile on this site.
  • A verified agency sign-up (the name and state the agency entered).
  • A real job listing we imported whose employer is clearly a law-enforcement agency (for example a police department, sheriff's office or a city or county hiring for a policing job). We only tidy the name (for example removing a job board's prefix). Generic names and listings that cover several states are skipped.

Unclaimed profile

A record with no agency account behind it shows Unclaimed profile. Everything on it comes from verified officers and is moderated: reviews, officer-reported pay and hiring times. The agency hasn't checked any of it.

For agencies: claiming your page

  1. Create an agency account and finish agency verification.
  2. Publish your recruitment profile. If its name and state exactly match an unclaimed record, the record joins your profile automatically.
  3. Otherwise, open the unclaimed page and choose Claim this profile. An admin checks the claim before linking it.

When a claim is approved, the reviews and reports on the record move to your profile, and you can respond to reviews. Claiming doesn't let you edit or remove officers' reviews; you can report a review that breaks the review guidelines.

If an agency account is deleted

The reviews, pay and hiring-time reports about the agency stay on its record, which shows as an Unclaimed profile again. The agency's own responses to reviews are deleted with its account.
